This painting evokes a moment of withdrawal from the world, where the fern forest becomes a space for rejuvenation.
Lalou captures the idea of a green bath, a sensory immersion in the coolness, subdued light, and smell of humus.
The title suggests an intimate decision, like a ritual of slowness and deep breathing, akin to the Japanese spirit of shinrin-yoku (forest bathing), where walking slowly under the foliage becomes an act of meditation and returning to oneself.
The painting is a unique work created on a wooden panel (10mm MDF) traditionally prepared with a gesso coating. The painting is entirely done with extra-fine acrylics (Sennelier, Charvin, Liquitex) with 24-carat gold leaf application and created by hand, without any collage or AI...
