Print quality, sizes and framing
An art edition brings a Lalou Kraffe creation to a paper chosen for its image quality and archival properties. The signature, material, size and presentation matter as much as the image itself.
Paper and inks: fine art printing
For the paper prints described here, we use Epson equipment and pigment inks on Canson Infinity Edition Etching Rag 310 gsm paper. This 100% cotton paper has a fine, slightly textured grain and a matte finish.
The manufacturer describes it as acid-free, free from optical brighteners and internally buffered; the paper base meets ISO 9706 requirements. These are paper specifications, not a guarantee that a print will last a fixed number of years regardless of its conditions.
Materials and finishes may vary between editions. The chosen artwork’s product page remains your reference, particularly for limited editions.
Lalou’s signature and the KLE embossed mark
The paper prints presented in this guide bear Lalou Kraffe’s handwritten signature at the bottom. The KLE monogram is embossed into the paper with a dry embossing press: this subtle relief is part of their presentation.

A signature alone does not mean an edition is limited. When a print belongs to a limited edition, its numbering and edition size should be stated on its product page. Compare signed prints and limited editions.
Sizes: understanding the dimensions
Among the available sizes, A3 prints measure 29.7 × 42 cm and A2 prints measure 42 × 59.4 cm. These prints have a 3 cm white margin around the printed area for embossing, the signature and presentation.
Other sizes may be available depending on the work. Always check the options on the product page, the image orientation and the dimensions of your selected version.
Do not confuse print size with overall framed dimensions: the frame can increase the space needed on the wall. If the outer dimensions are not listed or your space is limited, ask us for advice before ordering.
Signed prints: framed or unframed?
Unframed: you receive the print on its own, ready to frame as you wish. A3 and A2 are standard sizes. The white margin allows for a presentation without a mount if you prefer.
Framed: choose a finish offered on the artwork’s product page. The displayed price corresponds to your selected variant; not every work is available in the same sizes or finishes.
For shipping the framed prints covered by this presentation, the mineral glass used in the studio is replaced at no extra charge by PET glazing to reduce the risk of breakage in transit. Framed prints are protected with bubble wrap and reinforced cardboard packaging.
Limited editions: all are presented in float frames. Traditional glazed frames are reserved for signed prints. Check the product page for the support, size and overall dimensions of your chosen limited edition.
Preparing, signing and protecting your print
An unframed print is packed flat to avoid rolling the paper: a clear protective sleeve, backing board, additional semi-rigid cardboard and a cardboard envelope.
We aim to prepare orders within 1 to 3 days whenever possible. Extra time may sometimes be needed to prepare, sign and number prints, depending on our availability. This preparation time is in addition to the carrier’s delivery time.
In Auray, the print production and packing space is private and is not open to the public. It is separate from the atelier-gallery where Lalou works and exhibits.
A few ways to care for your print
Handle your print with clean, dry hands and avoid touching the printed surface. Keep it out of direct sunlight, away from damp and significant temperature changes. Suitable framing helps protect the paper from dust and handling.
