Original painting, by Lalou Kraffe in February 2026:
This painting captures a fragile moment where the morning light grazes the tea bowl, like a first gesture of intimacy with the day. The steaming pu-erh, almost alive, seems to offer a warmth to the hand that invites presence, silence, and slowness.
Lalou transforms this simple ritual into an inner landscape: the steam becomes thought, the color becomes breath, and the setting transforms into a refuge where time slows down.
The work whispers: stay, savor, let the hand warm and the mind settle, like a first meeting between the body and the dawning day.
The painting is a unique work created on a wooden panel (10mm MDF) traditionally prepared with a gesso coating. The painting is entirely done in extra-fine acrylic (Sennelier, Charvin, Liquitex) with 24-carat gold leaf application and created by hand, without any collage or AI...
