Original diptych, painted by Lalou Kraffe in March 2026:
Painting 1: "Hidden in the ferns, far from the tumult..." is an invitation to escape, a suspended pause in a natural setting. Lalou Kraffe depicts a secret refuge where the outside world fades away, where the body surrenders to the earth and silence becomes palpable.
The densely intertwined ferns form a natural cathedral that protects and envelops. Far from the tumult, the moment intensifies: no more noise, no more pressure, just the slow breathing of the undergrowth and the tranquility of a chosen shelter.
This work celebrates the art of withdrawing, of hiding in order to better reveal oneself. A discreet hymn to the power of invisible retreats, to the beauty of places that save us from the visible.
Painting 2: "The intense joy of being there for the grand evening ball..." crowns this diptych with an explosion of light and celebration.
If the first panel (Hidden in the ferns, far from the tumult...) was refuge and silence, this one is apotheosis and communion.
Lalou Kraffe orchestrates here the transition from secret to sharing, from the intimate to the collective. The "grand evening ball" becomes a universal ritual: dancing silhouettes, colors ablaze, radiating energy. Joy is no longer contained; it overflows, it sweeps you away.
This second painting celebrates the moment when one emerges from one's hiding place to join the movement of life. A transition from protective retreat to joyful momentum, from the undergrowth to the clearing illuminated by the sunset.
From shadow to light, from silence to dance - a two-part meditation on the rhythm of existence.
The painting is a unique work created on a wooden panel (10mm MDF) traditionally prepared with a gesso coating. The painting is entirely done with extra-fine acrylic (Sennelier, Charvin, Liquitex) with copper leaf application and created by hand, without any collage or AI...
