Diptych 2B: “The intense joy of being there for the grand evening ball…”

Egrets with green, grey and ochre plumage gather beneath a large golden orb. A black silhouette crosses the sky, wings outstretched, above long necks and slender beaks.

Pink and light bands, black stems and the lower border create a highly rhythmic design. This second panel extends the diptych, with a scene where flight meets the movement of the perched birds.

The orb continues the gold leaf work of the original piece. Its shades are reproduced by the print, behind the flying bird.
