Nature and Egrets: "A Midsummer Night's Dream"

Two bird silhouettes cross the upper part of the landscape in front of a large copper-coloured celestial body. Below, blue water is surrounded by umbels, leaves and dark ferns.

Stems rise from the foreground and echo one another across the banks. The contrast between the light space in the background and the sharply outlined plants gives depth to this night scene imagined by Lalou.

The warm colour of the celestial body reproduces an application of copper leaf on the original. The print preserves its nuances, with no metal leaf applied to the paper.

This open art edition is offered in a 30 × 60 cm format, unframed. A framed version is also available at the gallery; this presentation cannot currently be ordered online. The photograph shows a framed presentation.

Quality and care

Printed on Canson Etching Rag 310 g/m² paper using Epson UltraChrome PRO12 pigment inks. According to Epson, these inks can provide a print life of up to 200 years in colour and 400 years in black and white, depending on the printing medium and the conditions of display and storage.
