A branch crosses the upper part of the landscape above pale blue water. On the right, red trees stand near a rock, their reflections extending across the light surface.

In the foreground, posts and large stones line the bank. This central panel of the triptych draws the eye between the branches, the horizon and the colourful patterns on the ground.

The foliage in the original painting is worked in copper leaf. The print reproduces its colours above the reflections and pale blues of the landscape.
