Andy Warhol
The Fonds Hélène & Édouard Leclerc is dedicating a major exhibition to Andy Warhol, a leading figure in American pop art, in Landerneau.
Presented at Les Capucins from June 6, 2026 to January 24, 2027, it is set to be the first major retrospective of the artist in France in forty years.
More than 200 works from the collections of the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh will allow visitors to rediscover the man who elevated everyday objects — Campbell's soup cans, soda cans or household products — to the status of modern icons.
Visionary, Warhol blurred the boundaries between popular culture and contemporary art and championed the idea of art accessible to all, summarized by his prophetic formula about "15 minutes of fame".
Set in the former supermarket hall of a shopping center, this exhibition promises a total immersion in the flamboyant and critical universe of the pope of pop art.
"In Camille Claudel's Time"
The exhibition "In Camille Claudel's Time, Being a Sculptor in Paris" at the Musée de Pont-Aven places Camille Claudel within a network of women artists active in Paris around 1900.
Despite obstacles — limited training and unequal recognition — about twenty sculptors such as Charlotte Besnard, Marie Cazin or Jane Poupelet established themselves in a male-dominated field.
Some 90 works and documents — sculptures, photographs and letters — reconstruct their studios, networks and rivalries in cosmopolitan Paris from 1880 to 1913. Co-produced with the Musée Camille Claudel and Tours, the exhibition rehabilitates these forgotten figures and questions the place of women in art history.
Jean Painlevé, with his feet in the water
The exhibition "Jean Painlevé, with his feet in the water" at the Musée de Pont-Aven presents the work of filmmaker and biologist Jean Painlevé (1902-1989), a leading figure in scientific documentary. He revolutionized the genre by combining experimental rigor, actual footage and microscopic images to reveal a living world that is usually invisible.
Close to the avant-gardes and surrealism, collaborating notably with Calder, Léger or Vigo, he deliberately blurred the boundaries between science, art and visual poetry.

Jan Křížek, the itinerary of a loner
The Musée des Beaux-Arts in Brest pays tribute to a major Czech artist, Jan Křížek (1919-1985), through a new exhibition adapted for an off-site presentation, combining reproductions and original works.
This exhibition, presented at Les Capucins, originated from the 2023 cataloging of a vast collection of the artist's works kept at the museum. It consists mainly of drawings, watercolors and prints, in which the human figure is always the central theme.
