Lalou takes the idea of the stack of mattresses from The Princess and the Pea and turns it into a playful scene. The pale body stands out against the golden background; fabrics fill almost the entire height, like a landscape made of textiles.

The background of the original painting is worked in gold leaf. The print reproduces its warm shades behind the figure, above the multicoloured cushions.

Size and framing

This art edition is available in a 20 × 50 cm format. It can be ordered unframed or with a black frame, according to the variants shown on this page.

Quality and care

Printed on Canson Etching Rag 310 g/m² paper using Epson UltraChrome PRO12 pigment inks. According to Epson, these inks can provide a print life of up to 200 years in colour and 400 years in black and white, depending on the printing medium and the conditions of display and storage.
