Original diptych: “Happy, with soft, silent steps, I slipped home carrying a bouquet of wild grasses”

Her face bent towards her bouquet, a red-haired woman holds wild grasses close to her. Dark stems spread across her hair and pale clothing. Behind her, a large copper disc meets the blues and greens of the background.

In the neighbouring panel, flowers and foliage continue their journey. Small copper squares and pale circles connect the two parts, as though the bouquet were spilling out of the portrait. “Happy, with soft, silent steps, I slipped home carrying a bouquet of wild grasses”: we imagine that walk home, her arms full of the things she found along the way.

The original diptych

A unique work, available at Galerie KLE in Honfleur. Painted by Lalou Kraffe in 2026 in extra-fine acrylic on two 10 mm MDF wood panels prepared with gesso, with copper leaf applications.

The diptych includes the 55 × 75 cm portrait and the 25 × 75 cm foliage panel. They are sold together as a single work.

Frames included

€4,900 for both paintings, each in a black XL floating frame. External dimensions: 63 × 83 cm for the portrait and 33 × 83 cm for the foliage; depth 6 cm. The spacing between the two frames is up to you.

Each 1 cm panel sits on a 2 cm riser, with a 2 cm gap between the artwork and the frame moulding. The floating frames are made in Brittany and the paintings are fitted in our workshop.
