The ochre coat, blue collar and greys of the background surround this familiar gesture. The birds belong to the words of the title; in the image, the song seems instead to take the form of these dots rising into the air.

The large celestial body in the painting is made with gold leaf. Its printed shades frame the branches and the small flight of blue dots here.

Sizes and framing

Quality and care

Printed on Canson Etching Rag 310 g/m² paper using Epson UltraChrome PRO12 pigment inks. According to Epson, these inks can provide a print life of up to 200 years in colour and 400 years in black and white, depending on the printing medium and the conditions of display and storage.
