A small nest rests on a branch above a head of grey hair. The face, seen from the front, rests on a hand; behind it, a large golden orb echoes the black and red circles of the background.
The umbels and the subtle patterns of the garment accompany this scene of reverie. The light on the face and the design of the nest give the portrait two focal points, between softness and unexpected detail.
The orb is worked in gold leaf on the original artwork. The print captures its nuances behind the nest and the fine branches.
