Slender trunks frame blue water, punctuated by fan-shaped patterns. Large rocks occupy the foreground, while a line of red trees marks the distant shore.
Copper-colored branches spread across the top of the painting and lead the eye into the depth of the landscape. Here we find the soft forms of the Breton chaos, between stone, water, and foliage.
On the original, Lalou worked the foliage with copper leaf. Their warm colors are reproduced on this art paper, contrasting with the freshness of the water.
